Planning Commission of the City of Rainbow City, Alabama met in a special
session at

Roberts, City Attorney
1. Upon
roll call, Chairman Watson declared a quorum was present and the following
business was
transacted.
2. Mrs.
Emily Morgan was present requesting to annex into the City of Rainbow City. Mrs.
Morgan has 10 acres with her home, horses
and a horse barn, hobby shop and small race track
all contained
within her property. The Morgan’s are
seeking the zoning to be Agricultural
with all
buildings and shop’s to be grandfathered into the City. There was no one present in
opposition to
this annexation. Jerry Tolbert moved and
Frances Elrod seconded the motion to
recommend to the
Rainbow City Council to annex this property into the city limits of
City under Agricultural Zoning District. Motion carried.
3. Mr.
& Mrs. Willie (Pat) Burger, Ms. Phyllis Hendrix, Mr. & Mrs. Michael
Nelson and Mr. &
Mrs. James Scott were all represented by
Mr. Burger requesting to annex into the City of
These families are seeking to annex with
R-1 Single Family Residence. There was
no one
present in
opposition to this annexation. Wes Ellis
moved and Bryan Stone seconded the
motion to
recommend to the Rainbow City Council to annex these four families into the
city
limits of

Mayor Calhoun welcomed these families into
annexations. Also, Mayor Calhoun stated that the City is
aware of the situation with the need
for water, but
this matter is handled strictly by the Utility Board of Rainbow City.

There being no further business on the agenda for the Planning
Commission at this time,
Bryan Stone moved to adjourn. Motion carried.
