CITY OF RAINBOW CITY, ALABAMA – PLANNING COMMISSION – JULY 3, 2007

 

The Planning Commission of the City of Rainbow City, Alabama met in a special session at 4:00 P.M. and upon roll call the following members were present:

Wiley McLain, Building Official                                            Jim Turnbach, City Attorney 

 

 1.  Upon roll call, Vice Chairman Moon declared a quorum was present and the following

      business was transacted.

 

2.   Jack Peterson was present seeking permission to place a double wide mobile home, with 2,380

      square feet on his property at 150 Bluebird Lane.  The zoning is agricultural.  Mr. Peterson’s

      home on Babe Jackson burnt on May 31, 2007 and he would like to move to Bluebird Lane

      instead of placing a mobile home back at the same site of the burnt home.  Mr. Peterson showed

      Planning photo’s of the home and floor plan he is purchasing and a photo of  how it will look

      once the front and back porch is built.  He stated the home will be placed on a solid block

      foundation with brick around it.  Eddie Hill stated that this land is not part of the Treasure Island

      Subdivision as some people thought.  People present who spoke in favor of having this mobile

      home placed on Bluebird Lane were:  Amy & Audie Irvine, Bettye & J.G. Minyard, Leslie Hill,

      Roger Hardin, and Eddie Hill.  People present who spoke against having the mobile home  

      placed on Bluebird Lane were:  Joe Noojin, Frieda Fuller, Charles Fuller, Mike & Debra

      Bennett, Sherry & Randy Buckner and Dolan Bright.  After discussion, Elbert Tarvin moved

      and Bryan Stone seconded the motion to approve Jack Peterson’s request to allow him to place

      the double wide mobile home on Bluebird Lane.  The roll call vote was as follows: 

 

            Elbert Tarvin – yes

            Bryan Stone – yes

            Thomas Moon – yes

            Jerry Tolbert – abstain

            Wes Ellis – abstain

            Larry Harris – no

 

      Motion carried.

           

 3.  There being no other business on this agenda for the Planning Commission, Wes Ellis moved to

      adjourn.
