CITY OF
The
Planning Commission of the City of Rainbow City, Alabama met in a regular session
at 4:00 P.M. and upon roll call the following members were present:

1. Upon
roll call, Chairman Moon declared a quorum was present and the following
business was
transacted.
2. An
amendment to the minutes of August 28, 2007 – additional item – the minutes
from July 24,
2007 and August 7, 2007 were presented.
Bryan Stone moved and
Wes Ellis seconded the motion to suspend
the reading of the minutes and approve
the minutes as presented. Motion carried unanimously.
3. The
minutes from August 28, 2007 were presented.
Bryan Stone moved and Jerry
Tolbert seconded the motion to suspend
the reading of the minutes and approve
the minutes as
presented with the amendment. Motion
carried unanimously.
4. A
public hearing was announced with Eddie Perman being present with the
preliminary
plans on the subdivision for Danny Shaddix. The subdivision will be
located on
one in
opposition to these plans. After discussion,
Elbert Tarvin moved and Mona
Wallace seconded the motion to give Mr. Shaddix preliminary approval for the
subdivision. Motion carried.
5. A
public hearing was announced for Dale & Donna Fish’s subdivision on
Drive.
Donnie Tucker, Engineer was also present. They are seeking preliminary
approval and
final approval today. The Fish have
taken two (2) lots on
Drive,
had the land re-zoned to R-1 District and have now made three (3) lots from
the original two
(2). There was no one present in
opposition to this subdivision.
Doug Waldrup stated that the Utility
Board required either the taps be made for the
water meters or
a bond be presented to the Utility Board before final approval
could be
given. Bryan Stone moved and Larry
Harris seconded the motion to give
preliminary and
final approval for Fish Estates on
Utility Board being
given the bond or the meters being set.
Motion carried.
6.
Wiley McLain, Zoning Administrator, presented changes for the Zoning
Ordinance
and Subdivision
Regulations that will come before Planning next month in a public
hearing. No action is required today.
7. It
was announced that the Planning Commission meeting in October will be held on
October 30, 2007 with Staff Review
remaining the same, October 16th.
8. There
being no other business to come before The Planning Commission, Bryan
Stone moved and Jerry Tolbert seconded
the motion to adjourn.
