COUNTY OF ETOWAH

CITY OF RAINBOW CITY-COUNCIL MEETING-OCTOBER 13, 2006

The City Council of the City of Rainbow City, Alabama, met in a special called meeting at City Hall at 8:00 A.M., and upon roll call by the City Clerk, Barbara T. Wester, the following members answered present:

Terry John Calhoun, Mayor

Council members:

Jeff Overstreet, absent

Bobby McCartney

Lloyd Matthews

Bryan Stone, absent

Kris Cornutt

The same constituting a quorum of the City Council, the following business was transacted.

1.  The meeting was called to order by Mayor Calhoun.

2.  Mayor Calhoun stated the meeting was called for two (2) reasons.  One is to allow the Fire Department to send out bids for the FEMA Grant for the air compressor and to open them October 23, 2006 at 6:00 P. M.

3.  Mayor Calhoun stated the second reason is to reject the bid of $242,000.00 by Southeast Electrical Contractors, Inc., because they do not have an Alabama Contractors License.  This is for the lighting of the Vivian Lee Maddox Complex.  Mayor Calhoun stated that the next lowest bid is Titan Electric, Inc., and they have a bid of $256,700.00.

Bobby McCartney moved and Kris Cornutt seconded the motion to reject Southeast Electrical Contractors and accept the bid of Titan Electric due to the fact that Southeast Electrical was not licensed.   Mayor Calhoun declared the motion carried.

There being no further business to come before the Council at this time, Bobby McCartney made a motion to adjourn.

Time Adjourned:  8:10 A. M.
