The City Council of the City of Rainbow City, Alabama, met in a special called meeting at City Hall at 2:00 P.M., and upon roll call by the City Clerk, Barbara T. Wester, the following members answered present:
Terry John Calhoun, Mayor
Council members:
Jeff Overstreet
Bobby McCartney
Lloyd Matthews
Bryan Stone
Kris Cornutt, absent
The same constituting a quorum of the City Council, the following business was transacted.
1. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Calhoun.
2. Mayor Calhoun stated that this meeting was called for two (2) reasons. One to hire a police officer and the other to approve Planning Commission Board members John Watson, Thomas Moon, and Bryan Stone to attend the 2006 AARC Conference, November 28-December 1, 2006 in Orange Beach.
3. Jeff Overstreet moved and Bryan Stone seconded the motion to hire John Hall as police officer at $11.00 per hour, effective November 10, 2006. Mayor Calhoun declared the motion carried.
4. Lloyd Matthews moved and Jeff Overstreet seconded the motion for John Watson, Thomas Moon and Bryan Stone to attend the 2006 AARC Conference. Mayor Calhoun declared the motion carried.
There being no further business to come before the council at this time, Bryan Stone made a motion to adjourn.
