the City of
Mayor Calhoun
presented the minutes of October 11, 2010 for review, and asked if there were
any corrections, additions, or deletions.
There being none, Anita Bedwell made a motion
to adopt the minutes as presented. Kris Cornutt seconded the motion. Mayor Calhoun stated all in favor say
aye. All ayes. Mayor
Calhoun declared the motion carried.
Mayor Calhoun
presented Resolution No. 10-02, a constitutional amendment to clarify the
process of distributing the costs of assessing and collecting ad valorem taxes
among governmental entities. This
amendment corrects the technical language that could redistribute the costs and
preserves the formula currently used today.
It will ensure that each agency that collects ad valorem taxes will
continue to pay its proportional share of the costs of operating the tax
assessing and collecting office, and the cities that does
not collect the taxes will not have to pay for something they do not
receive. Bobby McCartney made a motion
to adopt this resolution. Kris Cornutt seconded the motion. Mayor Calhoun stated all in favor say
aye. All ayes. Mayor
Calhoun declared the motion carried.
Mayor Calhoun presented a budget revision
request from the librarian for the FY 2011 budget. The library received a grant in the amount of
$20,000.00, instead of the $15,000.00 for the allocation from the

recognized Cobb Hallmark who is running for the
Fireman Jason Green
stated the Fire Department has sold around 1300 t-shirts for breast
cancer. The proceeds will be divided
equally between the
Mayor Calhoun stated
the council needs to go into executive session to talk to the City
Attorney. Anita Bedwell
made a motion to go into session. Larry Keenum seconded the motion.
Mayor Calhoun stated all in favor say aye. All ayes. Mayor Calhoun declared the motion carried.
