STATE OF
CITY OF
The City Council of the City of Rainbow City, Alabama, met
in a special called meeting at City Hall at 9:30 a.m., and upon roll call by
the City Clerk, Barbara T. Wester, the following members answered present: Terry John Calhoun, Mayor; Council members,
Anita Bedwell, Bobby McCartney, absent, Lloyd Matthews, Larry Keenum,
Kris Cornutt, absent.
The same constituting a quorum of the City Council, the following
business was transacted.
1. The meeting was
called to order by Mayor Calhoun.
2. Mayor Calhoun
stated the meeting was called for the purpose of hiring a police officer and an
accounts payable/purchasing clerk.
Larry Keenum made a motion to hire Jeffery R.
Anthony at $11.25 per hour, staring to work today. Lloyd Matthews seconded the motion. Mayor Calhoun stated all in favor say aye. All ayes. Mayor Calhoun declared the motion carried.
3. Mayor Calhoun
stated the next item of business is to hire an accounts payable/purchasing
clerk. He stated he took applications, interviewed, and he would like to
recommend Joyce Ponder at $12.50 per hour, beginning work July 13, 2009. Anita Bedwell made
a motion to hire Joyce. Larry Keenum seconded the motion.
Mayor Calhoun stated all in favor say aye. All ayes. Mayor Calhoun declared the motion carried.
There being no further business to come before the Council
at this time, Kris Cornutt made a motion to adjourn.
