COUNTY OF ETOWAH

 

CITY OF RAINBOW CITY-COUNCIL MEETING-JULY 23, 2008

 

The City Council of the City of Rainbow City, Alabama, met in a special called meeting at City Hall at 8:00 a.m., and upon roll call by the City Clerk, Barbara T. Wester, the following members answered present:

 

Terry John Calhoun, Mayor

 

Council members:

 

Cora Kelly, absent

Bobby McCartney

Lloyd Matthews

Bryan Stone

Kris Cornutt

 

The same constituting a quorum of the City Council, the following business was transacted.

 

1.  The meeting was called to order by Mayor Calhoun.

 

2.   Mayor Calhoun stated the meeting was called to dispense grant funds from the one cent sales tax to the Coosa Baseball Association.  The nine, eleven and twelve year olds are attending Regional Play in Virginia, Georgia, and South Carolina.  Senator Larry Means asked the Council to apply for a grant for $3000.00 to pass along to the association.   Kris Cornutt moved and Lloyd Matthews seconded the motion to accept Senator Means recommendation.

 

There being no further business to come before the Council at this time, Kris Cornutt made a motion to adjourn.
