CITY OF RAINBOW CITY-COUNCIL MEETING-MAY 29, 2009

 

The City Council of the City of Rainbow City, Alabama, met in a special called meeting at City Hall at 8:00 a.m., and upon roll call by Barbara T. Wester, City Clerk/Treasurer, the following members answered present:  Terry John Calhoun, Mayor; Council members:  Anita Bedwell, Bobby McCartney, Lloyd Matthews, and Larry Keenum.  Kris Cornutt, absent.  The same constituting a quorum of the City Council, the following business was transacted.  The meeting was called to order by Mayor Terry John Calhoun.

 

1.  Mayor Calhoun stated this special meeting was called for two reasons.  One is to post the position of police officer.  Mike Dedmon resigned effective May 31, 2009.  Larry Keenum moved and Lloyd Matthews seconded the motion to post the position today and take it down June 12, 2009 at 4:00 p.m.  Mayor Calhoun stated all in favor say aye.  All ayes.  Mayor Calhoun declared the motion carried.   The second reason is to adopt Resolution No. 09-03.  He stated this is to apply for stimulus money (CDBG-R Funds) from the Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs for the drainage improvement project for Country Lane, White Oak Village and Horizon Place.  Lloyd Matthews made a motion to adopt this resolution.  Larry Keenum seconded the motion.  Mayor Calhoun stated all in favor say aye.  All ayes.  Mayor Calhoun declared the motion carried.

 

There being no further business to come before the council at this time, Bobby McCartney made a motion to adjourn.
