POT OF GOLD AT THE END OF THE RAINBOW...CITY
The WINNING clue has been found at Ron's Body Shop
Previous Clues Below
CLUE #1 — Hiding the treasure is one big pleasure, but my mind no longer thinks in a flash. My suggestion to you on the very first clue is look where service means cash.
CLUE #2 — If my reference to cash has thrown you off then think of a place that takes it. The key to the treasure is looking around, where bodies are prepared to be fit.
The third annual Alabama Chocolate Festival in Rainbow City, is scheduled for April 5, 2008 at the football/soccer field at Rainbow Middle School. We promise more and more chocolate, in all shapes and sizes. Pies, cakes, cookies, and candies will be available from vendors, some free, some to buy, but more varieties than at last year's inaugural event.

The 3rd annual Alabama Chocolate Festival will take place Saturday, April 5 from 10:30 AM to 8 PM. “We have outgrown the venue at Rainbow Plaza and are moving to a larger area, the football/soccer field at Rainbow Middle School.
We appreciate the support we have received from people all over the region. Their interest and attendance has allowed us to increase the caliber of entertainment and special events at this year’s festival. The growth in attendees each of the first two years included many people who live in many cities and counties, some a hundred miles away from Rainbow City.”
Charlotte Phifer, chairperson of Project EDGE (Economic Development Growth Excellence), added, “Our committee has been involved in several programs in the city but none with the positive impact of the chocolate festival. It is hard to believe this year will be just our third. I guess we underestimated the appeal of “chocolate’ in attracting people.” Activities planned this year by Ms. Phifer’s committee are the Chocolate Taste Off with awards given to the best cookies, cakes, pies and candies, all with chocolate as part of their recipe; a carnival that will set-up adjacent to the site on Friday, the 4th and be ready for kids of all ages as part of the event; musical entertainment will begin at 11 a.m. and run till 8 p.m.

This year’s headliner is the hot, young country group, Emerson Drive. Currently their popular song, “You Still Own Me”, is number 23 on the Country National Airplay charts. The five-man group is from Bowling Green, Kentucky. Their first CD brought them top-twenty hits, “A Good Man”, and “Moments”. Alabama’s, Teddy Gentry and record producer, Josh Leo, drove to Bowling Green to see the band perform and Leo signed them up immediately. Gentry added, “I was blown away with the bank. This is possibly the best band I’ve heard in years as far as playing live on a stage.” Ms. Phifer indicated that the remainder of the musical lineup had not been completed by they were close and would likely have a second news conference in early March to announce the day’s complete musical lineup.
In addition to chocolates for sale, more merchandise and food vendors than in the past two festivals will be on site.
A highlight of the first two festivals was the “Search for the Pot of Gold at the End of the Rainbow… City” treasure hunt. Four weeks before the festival, a clue will be given each Thursday as to where a gold certificate is hidden. This will entitle the finder to take possession of a Treasure Chest award at 4:30 PM on the 5th.
This year’s certificate will be hidden at a public place instead of a business as was the case the last two years. Festival organizers were quick to point out that it will not be hidden “in a tree or buried underground”. At the first chocolate festival in 2006, police spied a person who had climbed a tree in a business parking lot to look for the treasure. The value of this year’s treasure chest will be just over $6,000 in cash, merchandise, and certificate for services. www.alabamachocolatefestival.com
