 Rainbow City Public Library was established in 1981 and currently has over 14,000 registered borrowers.
The Library's holdings consist of over 52,000 book volumes, 2,500 audio books, and 2,200 video cassettes and DVD's. In fiscal year 2006, patrons borrowed over 129,000 items.
The Library offers a variety of services including reference, interlibrary loan, story time, and sponsors an annual summer reading program. In addition, the Library provides access to Internet-connected computers and the Alabama Virtual Library.
